With a successful decade of partnership already behind them, G Adventures and National Geographic Expeditions have inked a deal to continue working together for another 10 years.
The two companies initially began their collaboration in 2015 with a shared goal to fundamentally change the way travelers explore locations around the globe.
That partnership led to the creation of National Geographic Journeys with G Adventures and National Geographic Family Journeys, along with supporting 25 social enterprise projects and helping to improve the lives of thousands of people around the world through community tourism initiatives.
Together the two companies also created more than 100 itineraries over the past decade centered around National Geographic’s legacy of science, exploration, education and storytelling.
These same journeys helped travelers to connect with local communities, experience new cultures and enjoy the work of National Geographic’s scientists and storytellers, according to G Adventures.
“What started as a shared vision and an opportunity in the group travel market, has grown into a collection of truly life changing experiences, whose positive ripple effects can be felt by local people, wildlife and destinations all around the world,” Ben Perlo, chief executive officer at G Adventures, said in a statement.
For instance, 25 ‘G for Good’ Planeterra projects are now visited on G Adventures’ ‘Journeys’ trips. And as a direct result of this, more than 51,881 community lives have been uplifted through community tourism, according to the company.
Additionally, every traveler’s purchase helps support the nonprofit National Geographic Society, which works to protect and illuminate the world through exploration, research and education.
Now the two companies have set their sights on continuing to build on their successful track record.
“Demand for these types of experiences is growing; since embarking on this journey with National Geographic Expeditions, we’ve seen exceptional growth every year, as travelers look to go deeper into destinations, make real human connections and make more thoughtful and intentional choices about where they spend their travel dollars,” Perlo added.
The National Geographic Journeys with G Adventures and National Geographic Family Journeys collections visit 52 countries including South Africa, Japan, Egypt, Greece and Thailand.
