Viking is launching a new itinerary in India.
Called “Wonders of India,” the 15-day fully guided land and river journey is scheduled to debut in 2027. Bookings for all 2027 and 2028 departures are now open, according to an email sent to past guests.
Travelers will visit Delhi, Agra and Jaipur on land before boarding the forthcoming, all-veranda ship Viking Brahmaputra for a cruise down the Brahmaputra River. Along the way, they’ll have a chance to explore iconic sites and landmarks like Taj Mahal, historic Old Delhi, Kaziranga National Park and more.
Slated to launch in 2027, the new 246-foot-long Viking Brahmaputra will be able to accommodate up to 80 passengers. It’s name is a combination of two ancient Sanskrit words: “Brahma,” the Hindu god of creation, and “putra,” which means son. It’s being designed specifically for the Brahmaputra River and will feature Viking’s signature Scandinavian design.
