Seabourn is offering the trip of a lifetime. The line’s new “Pole to Pole: Grand Expedition” cruise will journey from the high Arctic to Antarctica, covering more than 20,500 nautical miles over the course of 94 days.
The voyage departs August 17, 2027, and concludes November 19, 2027. Offered aboard the Seabourn Venture, the cruise is now available for booking for past guests and will open to members of the public on August 13.
The sailing is “unlike anything we’ve ever offered and is a once-in-a-lifetime journey designed for travelers who dream of exploring the ends of the Earth in total comfort and luxury,” says Mark Tamis, president of Seabourn. “Guests will sail through some of the most remote and awe-inspiring places on Earth, all while enjoying the hallmarks of Seabourn’s luxury experience. It is an extraordinary voyage that only Seabourn can deliver.”
The voyage begins with an overnight stay in Reykjavik, Iceland, followed by a charter flight to Kangerlussuaq, Greenland, where guests will board the ship.
From there, travelers will visit destinations in 14 countries and territories, including five days in Antarctica, three in South Georgia and three in the Falkland Islands. The voyage also includes six days in the Northwest Passage and a new three-day experience to the remote and rarely visited Ellesmere Island in the Arctic Archipelago. During the 33 sea days, the ship will cross the equator, Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn.
Guests will disembark in Ushuaia, Argentina, with a post-cruise charter flight to Buenos Aires.
Travelers can expect to enjoy remote polar landscapes, rich cultural encounters and memorable wildlife viewing opportunities, such as polar bears, whales, penguins, musk ox and seals. They might even catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights.
The 23-person expedition team—made up of scientists, scholars, naturalists and other experts—will enrich the journey even more. Guests can participate in guided Zodiac tours, hikes and nature walks; fireside chats and destination-specific enrichment; and signature Seabourn experiences, like the polar plunge and caviar on ice.
In addition, the voyage will offer “Image Masters,” an optional onboard photography workshop that provides in-the-field instruction on photo composition, camera technique, editing and retouching, led by the ship’s photographer.
A shorter 82-day Grand Expedition option is also available, sailing from August 29 to November 19, 2027. Guests who book either sailing will enjoy a variety of benefits and amenities, including up to $10,000 per suite in onboard credits, upgraded Starlink WiFi packages for two devices, unlimited laundry, round-trip business class air, one submarine dive, two kayak tours and a commemorative Grand Expedition parka.
