TAP Air Portugal is expanding its free stopover program, adding the ability for travelers to make a second stop in Portugal along with half-price airfare for the journey.
The special offer from the national carrier of Portugal is for travel that takes place after September 1 and is in addition to the first free stopover that TAP Air Portugal already offers.
As part of the stopover program, travelers can spend up to 10 days in Lisbon or Porto en route to TAP’s destinations across Europe and Africa.
A second stopover within Portugal is usually offered at 25 percent discount on airfare, but from today through September 8, it can be booked with a 50 percent discount on airfare.
The program also offers access to more than 500 offers and discounts from in excess of 150 partners across the country, including hotels, restaurants, activities, tours, museums and cultural spaces, shopping and services.
The 50 percent discount on a second stopover may be used when purchasing on flytap.com, on the TAP Air Portugal app, or through a travel agent.
The offer is valid for all TAP destinations within Portugal on routes between Lisbon or Porto and Ponta Delgada, Terceira, Funchal, Porto Santo, and Faro, and also between Faro and Funchal.
For U.S.-based travelers, TAP Air Portugal announced in May that it was adding three new nonstop routes from key cities on the East and West
coasts.
