Southwest Airlines’ dramatic transformation has taken yet another turn as the carrier has launched a brand new in-house packaged vacations product, introducing Getaways by Southwest.
Both sold and serviced by the low-cost carrier, the new offering promises travelers flexibility and benefits and replaces Southwest Vacations, which is currently run by Apple Leisure Group (ALG).
Customers who book a vacation package through Getaways by Southwest can check two bags for free and earn five Rapid Rewards points per dollar spent on bookings.
Additionally, travelers can cancel their packages and receive vacation travel credits to put toward a future trip within 18 months.
Getaways by Southwest offers bundled packages that include most aspects of travel like air, hotel through partners like Marriott and MGM, car and ground transportation options in popular destinations like Las Vegas, Orlando, Hawaii, Cancun, Punta Cana and Montego Bay, among others.
“Getaways by Southwest expands what customers love about Southwest—flexibility, an award-winning Rapid Rewards loyalty program, and great perks—to the vacation experience,” Phil Gouel, Vice President Product Development at Southwest Airlines, said in a statement.
“This end-to-end vacation package, coupled with our legendary customer service, is perfect for customers seeking a convenient, valuable, and curated vacation experience.”
