Big Five Tours & Expeditions has achieved Certified B Corporation certification, having met the requirements for environmental performance, transparency and accountability.
“Becoming a Certified B Corporation is both a milestone and a commitment that started with a conversation with my father in 2015,” said Big Five Tours & Expeditions President Ashish Sanghrajka, whose late father, Mahen Sanghrajka, founded the company in Kenya 52 years ago.
“It validates the work we’ve done for decades and inspires us to continue innovating responsibly,” he added. “The most amazing part is seeing the evolution of the travel advisor community.”
Sanghrajka also noted that Big Five views travel advisors not merely as a sales channel but as “purpose-aligned partners.”
The process for achieving B Corp status is nothing if not rigorous. “Every aspect of the company’s operations – from its supply chain to internal governance to environmental policies – was placed under a microscope,” Big Five said.
“This certification confirms the integrity of systems the company has built over decades and demonstrates that Big Five’s purpose-driven model holds up to the highest global benchmarks.”
Big Five Tours & Expeditions offers programs in destinations including Africa, Asia, Latin America and the South Pacific.
