
In the hunt for affordable international flights, many travelers are willing to switch their airline or
destination to the cheapest options available. But have you ever thought of switching up your departure airport to find a more affordable fare?
That could be the secret to scoring more consistent deals on international flights, according to a new report. Flight deal site Going.com has released new data analyzing
the United States airports that have offered the most—and the best—flight deals throughout the past year. To make the rankings, Going analyzed the more than 80,000 flight deals it sent its users, which departed from 200 airports around the U.S. on
dozens of airlines.
The airports offering the most deals are located all over the country, meaning the perfect affordable fare to your dream destination abroad could be a short drive, train ride, or connecting flight away. Here’s a look at the U.S. airports with the most
flight deals, on both international and domestic routes.
U.S. airports with the best international flight deals
According to Going’s data, travelers in Florida and New York have access to the best flight deals on international routes. The top three airports offering the best deals are:
Orlando International Airport (MCO), with an average discounted fare of $418.12 or 48% offNewark Liberty International Airport (EWR), with an average discounted fare of $437.93 or 52% offNew York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), with an average discounted fare of $442.08 or 52% off
U.S. airports with the most international flight deals
All three of the airports with the most flight deals on international routes are major airline hubs “with broad international networks, ongoing route expansion, and recent infrastructure upgrades,” according to Going. Each airport had more than six international
flight deals per week in the Going app, with discounts ranging from 40% to 90% off.

In addition to a high volume of deals, the airports also offered deeply discounted fares over the last year, including:
JFK to Florence, Italy, for just $344 on ITA Airways; a discount of 63% offBOS to Mykonos, Greece, for only $468 on British Airways; a discount of 52% offLAX to Tulum, Mexico, for only $271 on American Airlines; a discount of 56% off
In addition to international routes, Going’s report also looked at the airports offering the best deals on domestic flights, too.
U.S. airports with the best domestic flight deals
Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC), with an average discounted fare of $146.28 or 45% off
Tampa International Airport (TPA), with an average discounted fare of $150.67 or 46% offHartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), with an average discounted fare of $153.13 or 47% off
“These airports have consistently offered some of the best-priced flights for a variety of reasons,” said Going travel expert Katy Nastro. “With Salt Lake City’s rapid growth and new airline additions, Tampa’s billion-dollar expansion, and growing low-cost
carrier competition at the world’s busiest airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta. They’ve all helped get people going more affordably.”
U.S. airports with the most domestic flight deals
The three airports with the most deals on flights within the U.S. averaged nearly three flight deals per week in Going’s app, with discounts ranging from 40% to 90% off. Those three hubs were:

According to the report, each airport has strong service from low-cost airlines, which drives down their average airfare. The best domestic deal at each airport was:
TPA to Boston for $77 roundtrip on JetBlueMCO to Raleigh for $58 roundtrip on Breeze AirwaysDEN to Indianapolis for $53 roundtrip on Southwest
