Jordana Izzo, Director of Accessible Travel with Travelmation, is hosting a first-ever “Caregivers in the Caribbean” hosted wellness retreat on May 14-17, 2026 at Sandals Ochi Beach Resort in Jamaica.
The three-night retreat will include special wellness activities focusing on rest, optional group meetups for connection and plenty of time on your own for relaxation, all at the adults-only resort which provides private beach experiences and gourmet dining.
According to Cleveland Clinic, caregiver burnout can impact about 60 percent of caregivers, whether they be parents caring for their children—able-bodied or otherwise—or family members responsible for caring for aging parents, disabled siblings, a partner or anyone else.
“This retreat gives caregivers the opportunity to reconnect with a partner or friend, build a community and really just relax for a few nights,” explained Izzo, the organizer. “We also welcome conversations about who you’re caring for as well as the mental health toll that comes with it. My goal is to make this an event that people really enjoy and want to continue being part of for many years to come.”
“Our main goal in this one of a kind event is to have caregivers understand it is okay to take time for yourself,” Izzo continued. “To visit the spa, to sleep in, to go golfing, to spend time with people who just ‘get it’. One of the main ways to prevent caregiver burnout is to prioritize self care, and we are looking at this as the ultimate way to put yourself first.”
Travelers or travel advisors who are interested in the retreat can contact jordanaizzo@travelmation.net. Space is limited based on availability, but the retreat is available to book as long as availability lasts.
Sandals Ochi offers stays for different budgets, including Luxury Level, Concierge Level and Butler Level accommodations, which are all available to book with the retreat.
