Global travel insurer, Travel
Guard is on the search this fall for the traveler with the ‘all-time worst’
story of a travel mishap or nightmare as part of its 2025 contest and
sweepstakes in their ‘World’s Unluckiest Traveler.’
Open for residents of the U.S. and Canada, the contest opens
on October 7 at 9 a.m. CDT, running through November 12, 2025. Entrants can
submit a video or photo with their accompanying story describing their worst epic
travel calamity. The public can then vote for their favorite entry once a day in
a three-week period beginning November 13. In an effort to encourage more
votes, contest entrants can share their submission across social media
platforms.
Vote volume will determine the sweepstakes winners. The
submission with the highest number of votes will win a grand prize of $10,000
with second, third and fourth highest votes receiving prizes as well.
It’s not only the contest entrant who stands to win, as
Travel Guard will randomly select a voter to receive the sweepstakes prize of a
GoPro action camera and kit.
“Travel Guard encourages travelers to protect their trips –
and themselves – but we know that things don’t always go according to plan,”
said Jeff Rutledge, CEO, Zurich Cover-More in a statement.
He added, “The World’s Unluckiest Traveler was
launched to recognize those who have endured the worst in pursuit of their love
of travel and to highlight the sort of mishaps that might make a travel
insurance plan worth considering
