Intrepid Travel is adding 28 new active vacations on six continents to its portfolio of 2026 tours.
In all the adventure operator will offer 148 trips, which include hiking, cycling, kayaking, snorkeling and rafting itineraries.
The new Intrepid Travel trips run the gamut, from a four-day “Walking & Trekking” Peru itinerary, which includes a Machu Picchu guided tour, to a nine-day “Hike, Bike & Kayak” vacation in Central America, and a seven-day “Hike, Bike & Raft trip in Croatia and Montenegro.
Other tour highlights include a five-day “Oaxaca’s Indigenous Highlands” hiking trip in Mexico, exploring the Zapotec villages near Oaxaca, and the six-day “Hike, Bike & Kayak” through Iceland itinerary, where guests will cross through the Sólheimajökull Glacier, kayak along the country’s inland waterways and cycle through its one-of-a-kind landscapes.
All things considered, the trips provide travel advisors with a strong sales opportunity, as active vacations serve as Intrepid’s “fastest-growing category, up 9% year-over-year, with multi-active trips surging 23%,” the company said.
Global cycling tourism, meanwhile, “is projected to nearly double in the next decade, and hiking tours are growing around 6% annually, reflecting a broader shift toward wellness and outdoor connection,” Intrepid said.
Last but not least, each trip “includes a physical rating from one to five to help advisors qualify clients based on fitness level and travel style,” the company added.
“Intrepid’s style of travel has always resonated with people seeking active adventure, which makes this broader societal shift towards health and wellbeing especially exciting,” said Erica Kritikides, Intrepid Travel’s general manager of experiences.
As a Certified B company, Intrepid Travel meets high standards of environmental performance.
