Iberostar
Hotels & Resorts has announced the opening of the five-star all-inclusive
Iberostar Selection Riviera Cancun, located in the Riviera Maya.
The new hotel situated near the fishing village of Puerto
Morelos and a 20-minute drive from Cancun International Airport features 444
spacious suites, all with a jacuzzi. Accommodations include a selection of family
rooms, swim-up suites with direct access to semi-private pools and oceanfront
suites.
Dining options include an international buffet restaurant
and wood-fired pizzeria along with four specialty restaurants: L’Oliveto,
offering Italian cuisine; Nopal, serving signature Mexican dishes; a Caribbean
restaurant featuring seafood and local recipes; and Martinete, with Spanish
culinary specialties. Six bars on property include three swim-ups—and a Star
Café.
Operating under the Iberostar Selection category, the
property is designed for both couples and families. In addition to its stunning
beachfront location on the Caribbean Sea, the resort is an ideal home base for
exploring the area’s natural attractions, such as the Great Mayan Reef and the
Route of the Cenotes.
Phil Mc Aveety, CEO of Iberostar Hotels & Resorts, said
in a statement, “We are pleased to strengthen Iberostar’s presence in Mexico, a
key destination in our international growth strategy. This new project reflects
our commitment to excellence and to creating unique experiences for every
guest.”
He added, “It also reaffirms our dedication to developing
local talent, promoting a model of responsible
tourism that generates long-lasting value for communities, destinations and
the industry.”
With its 12th hotel opening in Mexico, Iberostar
reaffirms its commitment to the country as a key destination for selective
expansion. The company now boasts a total of 4,400 rooms across its properties,
employing more than 5,800 employees. The new resort will add almost 650 additional
jobs.
Iberostar’s commitment to responsible tourism integrates the
principles of the Iberostar Wave of Change movement as the new resort will
operate without single-use plastics, rather using purified drinking stations,
along with responsibly sourced seafood and a select 3R team overseeing waste
sorting, supporting the company’s goal of sending zero waste to landfill.
