International hotel owner, operator and investor, Minor
Hotels, has announced plans for a new Anantara luxury property to debut in
Ushuaia, Argentina.
Anantara Ushuaia Patagonia Resort, located in the southernmost
city in the world, will open in early 2028 in close proximity to Tierra del
Fuego National Park and just a short drive from Ushuaia International Airport.
The waterfront resort will feature 60 luxurious guest rooms and suites, a spa
and wellness facility, as well as signature dining and meeting facilities.
While remaining committed to environmental preservation, the
property will immerse guests in transformative and locally
focused experiences. The Costa Susana development has been selected to
participate in the World Architecture Festival’s Landscape and Environment
category – Argentina’s first such nomination – as the first carbon-neutral real
estate development in the country.
“Ushuaia, often called the ‘End of the World,’ is the gateway to Antarctica and a breathtaking destination in its own right,” said Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotels and Group CEO of Minor International in a statement. “Bringing Anantara to South America is a key priority for the Group, and we are thrilled to introduce our brand in a setting as bold, remote, and awe-inspiring as Ushuaia.”
Ushuaia offers a unique blend of Antarctic adventure and
pristine wilderness. Nearby attractions include world-class sea resorts, iconic
End of the World train journeys, luxury cruises to Antarctic and South American
ports and the 173,000-acre sanctuary of Tierra del Fuego National Park’s last
Andean peaks and dramatic coastal ecosystems.
Melitón González del Solar, spokesperson from Fideicomiso
Urbanización Monte Susana, added, “Partnering with Minor Hotels to
introduce Anantara to our country is incredibly exciting. Ushuaia’s raw natural
beauty and spirit of discovery are perfectly matched by Anantara’s
experience-led ethos. We’re equally proud to work with a brand that shares our
values in protecting the environment and uplifting local communities. Together,
we are creating a benchmark green hotel for the region.”
