Travelers looking to harness their sense of wanderlust into booking their next adventure will want to pay attention to the newest trip planning tool from Delta Air Lines.
The Atlanta-based carrier just launched a new platform called Delta Locals, which aims to inspire travelers with immersive videos of locals around the world sharing their recommendations for the best ways to experience their cities.
Delta Locals currently features travel recommendations from residents in Los Angeles, Tokyo, Sicily, and Patagonia.
Travelers can access the trip inspiration platform on a dedicated website: DeltaLocals.com. On the landing page, users will find an interactive globe that they can spin and click on different destination pins. Once selected, each destination shows a locals’ profiles, which users can choose to see videos introducing each resident, as well as videos on the best sightseeing, activities, and restaurants in their hometowns.
Each resident is a creative or a person who exemplifies their city. For example: a painter in Sicily, a surfer in Los Angeles, and a sushi chef in Tokyo, to name a few.
Content from additional destinations is slated to roll out through the end of 2025 and into 2026. Although the next destinations to be featured haven’t been officially announced, the platform’s website currently shows three additional locales that have pins on the globe but no content loaded. Those places include the Caribbean island of Curacao, Austin, Texas, and Dublin.
The Delta Locals concept was first announced at CES 2025 back in January as the airline kicked off its centennial year.
“Delta’s goal for our next 100 years of travel is to be so much more than just your airline,” said Alicia Tillman, Delta’s chief marketing officer. “We’re your one-stop shop for dreaming, planning, booking and arriving at a city on your bucket list. We are ready to take you where you want to go but to also help ensure you’re fully exploring the best that places have to offer with insights that most tourists would never know about.”
