A survey found that a major New Year’s resolution for Americans is to travel more in 2026, and Marriott Bonvoy is launching a new way for travelers to reach their travel goals: a giveaway with one million Marriott Bonvoy points.
The survey was conducted by The Harris Poll on behalf of Marriott Bonvoy, asking over 2,000 American travelers what they hope to achieve next year.
The survey found that 91 percent of Americans plan to travel next year, with 49 percent wanting to travel more in 2026 than they did this year. Two-thirds of travelers also say they are going to cut material spending to prioritize experiences, including travel.
Millennials prioritize traveling the most, with 70 percent saying they’d give up dining out for six months rather than give up a vacation.
“Many Americans are heading into the new year wanting to travel more than they did this past year, fueled by a desire for deeper connection, new discoveries, and more meaningful experiences. The Marriott Bonvoy New Year’s Eve Sweepstakes will award one million points to five Marriott Bonvoy members.
Beginning December 22, loyalty rewards members can enter the sweepstakes through January 1. The sweepstakes is eligible to all legal residents of the 50 states and Washington, D.C.
“With the chance to win 1 million points — enough to fund unforgettable getaways, bucket list adventures, or dozens of nights across our variety of brands — we’re giving travelers the opportunity to turn their travel dreams into reality across our global portfolio,” concluded Gill.
