John Werner, the longtime president of MAST Travel Network, will leave the consortium on Dec. 31, 2025.
Warner launched his 25-year career with MAST as vice president of membership sales and business development and rose to the position of president and chief operating officer in May 2022.
During his tenure at the organization, MAST “expanded to more than 205 member offices across 19 states, representing a network of 1,600 travel advisors,” the company said. “Under his leadership, the consortium’s preferred supplier portfolio also doubled, now encompassing over 100 partnerships spanning all segments of the travel industry.”
Among many other things, Warner spearheaded a generous number of significant initiatives, including a new cruise booking platform, a database synchronization system, a sales reporting tool and a multi-channel marketing program.
“John has been an invaluable part of MAST for over 25 years,” said Geoff Hendren, MAST’s chairman of the board and CEO.
“His exceptional leadership and relentless drive have been instrumental in transforming MAST into the thriving consortium it is today –a network now perfectly positioned for continued growth in the years ahead,” he added.
In other MAST news, the consortium held the first meeting of its new supplier advisory board on Dec. 9, “marking a significant step toward strengthening collaboration with its preferred supplier partners,” the company said.
“The virtual session, held via Zoom, brought together senior leaders from across the travel industry to discuss strategic initiatives designed to support MAST’s long-term growth.”
Supplier advisor board members include AmaWaterways, Apple Leisure Group, Avanti Destinations, Azamara Cruises, Celebrity Cruises, Collette, Globus family of brands, Mayflower Cruises and Tours, Royal Caribbean and Viking.
