Four Seasons I, the first vessel from Four Seasons Yachts, has reached a key construction milestone as it prepares to launch early next year.
The vessel successfully completed its first round of sea trials, spending five days at sea near the shipyard in Ancona, Italy. The ship underwent more than 60 tests, designed to check its propulsion, navigation, mechanical, electrical, safety, environmental and comfort systems, culminating in a six-hour endurance run at full power.
Crews also checked vibration and noise levels, as well as climate control, to assess the comfort of the vessel for guests.
A second sea trial will take place later this month. Helmed by internet-famous captain Kate McCue, the ship is scheduled to debut in March.
“The results of these trials speak to the level of craftsmanship and technical rigour behind Four Seasons I,” says Ben Trodd, chief executive officer of Four Seasons Yachts. “Seeing the yacht perform as intended gives us real confidence as we move into the final stages ahead of welcoming our first guests.”
