EF Go Ahead Tours is launching a new trip category focusing on one of the biggest attractions people love when they travel: food.
The new Food Tours collection offers immersive, small-group itineraries in destinations from Italy to Uruguay to Japan, and include three different travel styles for groups that range from 12 to 22 travelers.
The first are Food Tours, which are in-depth experiences into a destination’s culinary traditions, with food walks, market visits, farm tours and cooking classes.
The second style is Food & Wine Tours, combining a region’s culinary traditions and visits to emerging and well-known wine regions around the world.
The last group of tours in this collection are created in partnership with America’s Test Kitchen, a premium selection of offerings with elevated accommodations and multiple cooking classes or demonstrations. Travelers who take one of these tours will receive an annual subscription to ATK’s Essential Membership, special on-tour gifts and more.
“Food is one of the most appreciated benefits of travel amongst travelers and a way to learn more about local cultures,” explained Lael Kassis, Vice President, Market Innovation & Development, EF Go Ahead Tours. “The launch of this special new collection of food and tours marks a broader evolution of EF Go Ahead Tours’ culinary travel offerings, where we’ve refreshed existing itineraries with incredible new experiences like cooking classes and wine tastings, introduced new regions across Europe and Asia, and elevated hotel selections to include boutique properties, historic stays, and select countryside accommodations.”
One such new food tour is the Food of Ireland: Dublin, West Cork & County Kerry journey, a 12-day trip beginning at $4,099. The trip includes visits to popular sites, like Kilkenny Castle and the Ring of Kerry, with more foodie experiences ranging from an Irish cheese-making workshop to stops at local orchards, distilleries, and more. Travelers can extend their trip with a Galway extension if they like.

Those who love wine will love the Food & Wine of the Adriatic: Slovenia, Croatia and Northwest Italy, a 12-day journey beginning at $4,999. This tour includes experiences that immerse travelers in fresh, local produce, from locally produced olive oil to truffle hunting and making a traditional Slovenian meal. Wine experiences include locally produced prosecco, ribolla and grappa.
Trips include special moments, from market-to-table cooking lessons followed by delicious meals, visits to local producers and in-depth insights (plus tastings) and Michelin-starred restaurant meals.
The new trip category follows the brand’s market research, developed with Qualtrics Research, which found that 70 percent of travelers are interested in culinary touring, with a desire to enjoy immersive food experiences.
