In 2026, travelers won’t have to splurge in order to fly to a glamorous destination, whether they’re after a relaxing beach getaway or an immersive city break.
A new report from airfare booking company Skyscanner shows the most affordable destinations with the cheapest average airfares for travel throughout all of 2026. Travelers can expect to find prices for any budget: the list’s top three cheapest destinations have average roundtrip fares under $300, and only one of the destinations is above $500.
The report also shows that this year, travelers will save the most money by flying in the middle of the week: Wednesdays offer the most affordable fares on average, according to the report.
To find the average annual fares, Skyscanner looked at economy roundtrip flights between January 1 and October 31, 2025, for travel between January 1 and December 31, 2026. What they found is a mix of appealing destinations, including popular domestic beach havens in Hawaii and Florida, as well Latin American and Caribbean locales, and even one chic European capital.
The destination with the most affordable airfare in 2026 is Las Vegas, with an average roundtrip ticket price of just $232. Over the last year, Vegas has seen a notable tourism slump as part of a larger decline in international visitors to the U.S. For travelers that are interested in Sin City, that means affordable prices, and not just for airfares either. Skyscanner’s data shows current hotel rates as low as $116 per night at Conrad Las Vegas Resorts World and $190 per night at Treasure Island.
Ranking second on Skyscanner’s most affordable list is San Salvador, El Salvador, with an average roundtrip fare of $282. The capital city has something to offer to all types of budget-conscious travelers, including “lively markets and rich history with mountain views, beaches, and Mayan sites just a drive away,” the report says. Expect to find affordable hotel options, too, with properties like the Hotel Mirador Plaza and Barcelo San Salvador offering stays starting at $95 and $93 per night, respectively, according to Skyscanner.
Rounding out the top three most affordable destinations for 2026 is Miami. Fliers can expect to spend an average of only $284 for roundtrip fares to The Magic City, a perennial favorite with travelers for its powder-soft beaches, cultural attractions, and lively nightlife. Current hotel deals include stays at citizenM Miami World Center and The Fairwind Hotel starting at $223 and $214 per night, respectively, Skyscanner’s data shows.
Keep in mind that it’s possible to find fares to all of the cheapest destinations that are well below the annual average ticket price, with off-season flights dipping as low as $28 roundtrip for short-hops to some of the destinations on the list, according to Skyscanner.
