Following a riveting national championship game in Miami on Monday night, the college football spotlight has shifted to Las Vegas.
The Entertainment Capital of the World will host the 2027 College Football Playoff (CFP) National Championship inside Allegiant Stadium on January 25, 2027, with officials handing off hosting duties to Las Vegas on Tuesday.
The CFP title game is just the latest marquee sporting event to descend on Las Vegas, which hosted the Super Bowl in 2024 and a trio of Formula 1 Grand Prix events dating back to 2023.
“Las Vegas is ready and eager to light up college football’s biggest night,” Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) President and CEO Steve Hill said in a statement. “Our city has the playbook, the people and the passion to deliver an unforgettable College Football Playoff National Championship, with Allegiant Stadium and our world‑class resorts, entertainment, dining, and attractions creating an incredible championship weekend for fans.”
“Las Vegas is an exciting stage for college football, and we look forward to the year ahead as we plan for next year’s College Football Playoff National Championship there,” added Rich Clark, Executive Director of the CFP. “The city has proven it can host world-class events, and we know the leadership in Las Vegas will help us deliver a championship experience worthy of the sport, the teams, and the fans.”
The 2027 Las Vegas CFP Host Committee, which is led by Co‑Chairs Sandra Douglass Morgan, President of the Las Vegas Raiders, and Clark County Commissioner Jim Gibson, has been tasked with assembing leaders within tourism, gaming, sports, entertainment, business and government sectors to “coordinate regional operations, hospitality and community programming to ensure Southern Nevada residents, volunteers and local businesses are part of the championship experience,” according to LVCVA.
Boasting world-class dining and entertainment, approximately 150,000 hotel rooms and a stadium just off the walkable Las Vegas Strip, the city is well-equipped to host college football’s biggest game next year.
