Warner Bros. Discovery is celebrating the 25th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, the first movie in the Harry Potter franchise, this year, with 25 Years of Magic: a celebration with exciting new experiences at Universal Parks and more.
The movie was the highest-grossing film of 2001, and launched an eight-movie series bringing J.K. Rowling’s beloved books to life. It remains one of the most popular and loved movie series.
Beyond a theatrical re-release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone between August 27 and September 3, showing across the world, Warner Bros. is also serving up some exciting experiences for park-goers and more.

Warner Bros. Studio Tour London will offer a tour called The Making of Harry Potter, from May 7 through September 7. Fans of the movie franchise will learn all about filming the first movie, and see artifacts like the Sorcerer’s Stone.
Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo – the Making of Harry Potter will also provide a fun glimpse into the first movie, too, with details to be shared later.
At Universal theme parks in Orlando, Hollywood, Osaka and Beijing, Harry Potter fans will unite with their wands at the ready for limited-time offerings at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, with Butterbeer Season and Back to Hogwarts, a film concert series, exhibitions and Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience and Harry Potter: Visions of Magic.
Harry Potter locations worldwide will celebrate Harry Potter’s Birthday on July 31, with special themed products, events and activities for families.
At Cosm venues this spring, Harry Potter fans will be able to experience Hogwarts themselves with Harry Potter in Shared Reality. Cosm venues are located in Los Angeles and Dallas, with new venues in Atlanta and Detroit opening later this year.
Fans will also enjoy a variety of new 25th Anniversary merchandise, inspired by the silvery Patronus and partnered with brands like Hallmark, Crocs, Vera Bradley and more. The LEGO Group is also launching new Harry Potter-themed sets to celebrate, including Luna Lovegood’s House and the Hogwarts Castle Sorting Ceremony.
