Marriott International achieved landmark growth in 2025, the hotel giant announced Monday.
The Bethesda, Maryland-based hospitality behemoth grew net rooms by more than 4.3 percent last year, adding over 700 properties and nearly 100,000 rooms.
Marriott signed a record 94 deals in the Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) region and saw an all-time high of 187 deals in its all-important Asia Pacific excluding China (APEC) region. Marriott signed a record 201 deals in Greater China last year.
Conversions represented roughly one-third of annual organic room signings, Marriott said, agreeing to nearly 400 deals encompassing more than 50,800 rooms. About three-quarters of conversion openings in 2025 occurred within 12 months of signing.
2025 also saw Marriott complete its acquisition of the citizenM brand, roll out Series by Marriott and launch the Outdoor Collection by Marriott Bonvoy.
Another highlight of the previous year was Marriott’s accelerated global expansion of the midscale segment and scaled regional brands, with City Express by Marriott, StudioRes and Four Points Flex by Sheraton growing their presense.
The company also expanded its footprint in the luxury space, signing a record-breaking 114 luxury deals (15,301 rooms) and closing the year with 296 hotels and resorts—comprising approximately 60,000 rooms—in the luxury pipeline.
Lastly, Marriott signed a record-breaking 55 residential deals in 2025, signalling a 50 percent year-over-year increase. It closed the year with 149 open locations and 175 in the pipeline.
“2025 was a defining year for Marriott, marked by bold expansion and global milestones,” Marriott International President and CEO Anthony Capuano said in a statement.
“We scaled our iconic brands to new markets around the world, strengthened our portfolio across every segment, and opened doors to destinations that inspire travelers worldwide,” he added. “These achievements reflect the dedication of our global teams and the trust of our hotel owners, as we continue to deliver exceptional experiences for our members and guests.”
