Alaska Airlines has launched a new combined loyalty rewards program with partner airline Hawaiian Airlines, called Atmos Rewards, which provides various benefits including fast, free Wi-Fi connectivity through T-Mobile.
Atmos Rewards combines Mileage Plan and HawaiianMiles, and includes ways to earn and spend miles on both airlines, along with their 30+ partners, including the oneworld alliance.
Travelers who opt into the new loyalty program can choose from flexible point-earning options to preferred perks. They can even choose how they earn points: through distance traveled (via miles), for price paid (including premium cabins) or for segments flown (for those who take short distance flights).
“Atmos Rewards is more than a loyalty program – it’s a reflection of how guests travel today,” said Andrew Harrison, chief commercial officer at Alaska Airlines. “We listened to what our members value most and built a program that’s grounded in generosity, personalization and practicality. We’re putting our members in the pilot’s seat, giving them control over how they earn and redeem, while honoring the legacy and values of both Alaska and Hawaiian.”
Benefits to Atmos Rewards
Alaska and Hawaiian will both also offer Starlink Wi-Fi service to more planes, with the transition to start in 2026, with the date of completion in 2027.
As a member of Atmos Rewards, travelers can enjoy free Wi-Fi service through T-Mobile. Atmos Rewards is free to join, so free Wi-Fi is likely to be a big benefit to becoming a loyalty rewards member.
There are also ways to earn rewards points without even flying: members can earn 2 points for every dollar spent on Lyft rides, and 3 points for every dollar spent on airport and elevated Lyft rides. Rewards points can also be earned or redeemed for stays at nearly a million hotels and vacation rentals.
Like many rewards programs, Atmos Rewards also provides its own Atmos Rewards Visa credit card and Hawaiian Airlines Mastercard, which both add more ways of earning points. Additionally, travelers who want to reach status earlier will enjoy earning 1 point for every $2 spent with the Atmos Rewards Summit Visa Infinite card.
What Hawaiian and Alaska Loyalty Members Should Know
Mileage Plan members are now transitioned to Atmos Rewards members and retain their same account numbers and status. Miles have been changed to points, and elite-qualifying miles are now status points.
One Mileage Plan or HawaiianMiles mile is equal to one Atmos Rewards points. HawaiianMiles members will automatically transition to Atmos Rewards on October 1 and will receive a new account number if they have not already linked their account to a Mileage Plan account.
Those with existing co-branded credit cards do not need to do anything; their cards will still function as they should.
