Beginning in February, select American Airlines flights from its Dallas Fort Worth International Airport hub to New York City area airports LaGuardia Airport and John F. Kennedy International Airport will feature Pecan Lodge restaurant’s Texas barbecue on board.
Pecan Lodge has been honored by the likes of the Food Network, New York Times, and Travel + Leisure for its traditional Central Texas-style barbecue, which will take to the skies for the first time through this partnership with American.
In February, passengers in First Class on these flights can enjoy an authentic barbecue platter featuring brisket and smoked sausage, paired with creamy mac and cheese and crisp coleslaw. In March, American will offer a chopped brisket sandwich with roasted green beans and creamy potato salad. Both options, served with a side of barbecue sauce, are only available for preorder beginning January 11 through aa.com or American’s mobile app.
“As we celebrate American’s centennial anniversary in 2026, we’re looking forward to delighting our customers in new ways that honor unique regional tastes, beginning right here in our home state through one of the most beloved barbecue restaurants in Texas,” said Rhonda Crawford, American’s SVP of Customer Experience Design and Strategy. “Our customers deserve nothing but the best, and Pecan Lodge is certainly that.”
This launch follows American’s other partnerships with Champagne Bollinger and Lavazza coffee, both in lounges and in flight.
