The two quarrel over the Ukrainian leader’s outfit before trading jabs in the air with Trump firing a water gun at the Ukrainian president. The exchange is just one scene in an absurdist show, “Trump, The Twins President,” that parodies recent political events in a modern twist on traditional Cantonese opera, a Chinese art form dating back hundreds of years. The group…

When Yoshinobu Yamamoto makes his All-Star Game red carpet debut Tuesday, stylist Whitney Etoroma expects the Dodgers’ pitcher to shine just as much as he does on the mound.“I think it will be a moment,” she told The Associated Press. The pair are making a final decision on what he’ll wear, but Etoroma is pushing for a Thom Browne runway look that will “push the envelope.”As part of a program created in 2019, MLB provided stylists for the red carpet to Yamamoto, Seattle catcher Cal Raleigh, Detroit pitcher Tarik Skubal and Cubs’ outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong as baseball aims to raise its…
How much has social media changed the way we talk and behave? That’s the question linguist and content creator Adam Aleksic sets out to answer in his debut book “Algospeak.”If you already know what words like “yeet,” “rizz,” “brainrot” or “blackpilled” mean, some of this information might not come as a surprise to you. For those unfamiliar, it acts as an accessible entry point into social media slang and its evolution.“Algospeak” touches on a wide array of topics, including in-groups and out-groups, censorship, language appropriation, extremism…

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Fame is a double-edge sword. Though it comes with obvious perks — money, opportunity, praise — it can also prompt a kind of existential reckoning. Now what? Is this all there is? Am I changed because of it and, if so, for better or for worse? This is the kind of wrestling Alex Giannascoli, better known as the influential indie rocker Alex G, performs on “Headlights,” his 10th album and first on a major label. “Has your wish come true?” he asks, perhaps of himself, on the aptly titled “Is It Still You In There?”Although Giannascoli achieved…
Germany’s fairy-tale royal castles in its Bavarian region, including Neuschwanstein, Herrenchiemsee, and Linderhof, have now been added to the UNESCO World Heritage list. The Neuschwanstein castle is often cited as the inspiration for the Disney World’s centerpiece Cinderella castle in the Magic Kingdom. Construction began at Neuschwanstein in 1869, but the project was never completed, and building work halted when the Bavarian king died in 1886. WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court on Monday cleared the way for the Trump administration to continue unwinding the Education Department, allowing it to move ahead with mass layoffs and a plan to outsource the department’s operations to other agencies. The justices paused a lower court order that had halted nearly 1,400 layoffs and had called into question the legality of President Donald Trump’s plan to dismantle the department. Now, Trump and his education secretary, Linda McMahon, are free to execute the layoffs and break up the department’s work among other federal agencies. Trump had campaigned on closing the department, and…
