Israeli spyware maker NSO Group has confirmed to TechCrunch that a U.S. investment group has acquired the company. The Japanese city of Kyoto has announced that tourists will now be subject to a levy of up to 10,000 yen—or $65—per night, in what the city government calls its accommodation tax.The accommodation tax, “is used to cover costs involved in enhancing the attractions of Kyoyo as an International Culture and Tourism City, and in promoting tourism,” according to the city’s website. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is reassigning hundreds of employees across several of its agencies to assist in the Trump administration’s broad immigration crackdown and will dismiss staffers who refuse to comply, according to news reports.
