PARIS (AP) — A new kind of dandy took over Junya Watanabe’s runway on Friday — not the traditional gentleman, but a sharp-dressed rebel with a streak of punk at Paris Fashion Week.Watanabe, the pioneering Japanese designer known for mixing classic tailoring with a wild, creative edge, unveiled a lineup of bold, offbeat looks at the Lycée Carnot. The show was sharp but rebellious, rich in history but full of energy. It wasn’t about looking back. It was an explosion of new ideas.Watanabe has built his reputation by smashing the line between elegance and rebellion. This season, he didn’t just…
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ lawyer mocks sex trafficking case in closing, says charges ‘badly exaggerated’
NEW YORK (AP) — Sean “Diddy” Combs was portrayed in his lawyer’s closing argument on Friday as the victim of an overzealous prosecution that tried to turn the recreational use of drugs and a swinger lifestyle into a racketeering conspiracy that could put the music mogul behind bars for life.Attorney Marc Agnifilo mocked the government’s case against Combs and belittled the agents who seized hundreds of bottles of Astroglide lubricant and baby oil at his properties as he began a presentation expected to last several hours.“Way to go, fellas,” Agnifilo said of the agents. He said prosecutors had “badly exaggerated” evidence…
Southwest Airlines is in the midst of a dramatic transformation, but the carrier may not be stopping at assigned seating and baggage fees. The low-cost airline’s leadership isn’t ruling out the rollout of new premium offerings, airport lounges or long-haul international flights to coveted destinations like Europe as it looks to compete with other airlines. “Whatever customers need in 2025, 2030, we won’t take any of that off the table. We’ll do it the Southwest way but we’re not going to say ‘We would never do that,'” Southwest Airlines CEO Bob Jordan told CNBC at an airport industry conference this week.”We…
Uber Eats customers in Atlanta can now opt in to have their food delivered via sidewalk delivery robots, following partner Serve Robotics’ launch on Thursday. The move comes just two days after Uber and Waymo launched a commercial robotaxi service in the city. Serve, which spun out of Uber in 2021 before braving the public markets last year, is one of 18 autonomous vehicle companies that Uber has partnered with to get a first-mover advantage on the consumer-facing side of autonomy. The ride-hailing and delivery giant said it has an annual run rate of 1.5 million mobility and delivery AV…

Oslo police announce rape and sexual assault charges against son of Norwegian crown princess
AP — Oslo police on Friday announced charges against Marius Borg Høiby, the eldest son of Norway’s crown princess, on multiple counts including rape, sexual assault and bodily harm after a months-long investigation of a case that involved a “double-digit” number of alleged victims. Høiby, the son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit and stepson of the heir to the throne, Crown Prince Haakon, has been under scrutiny since he was repeatedly arrested in 2024 amid allegations of rape and on preliminary charges of bodily harm and criminal damage. Oslo Police Attorney Andreas Kruszewski said Høiby was cooperative during police questioning, which…
As with many airlines in the U.S. who focus on budget fliers, JetBlue has been attempting to navigate an environment of economic uncertainty. Now, one of its major investors is threatening to sell off his shares in the airline if the carrier can’t turn around its financial prospects in a year. JetBlue’s second-largest investor, Vladimir Galkin, has expressed the intention to potentially divest his 10% stake if the carrier doesn’t improve its financial performance, according to a Reuters report. JetBlue shares are down by 43% compared to the same time last year.”I am underwater a little bit and just going…
After Google temporarily paused the rollout of its buggy AI-powered “Ask Photos” feature in Google Photos, the company announced that it has improved the feature’s ability to quickly return search results. The AI feature, first introduced at Google’s I/O developer conference last year, allows users to search across their collection of digital photos using natural language queries. Leveraging Google’s Gemini, Ask Photos taps into the AI’s ability to understand a photo’s content and its other metadata when responding to input. However, users complained the AI feature wasn’t reliable and was often slow to respond while the AI was “thinking.” Addressing…
A top Republican senator is proposing a sweeping overhaul of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, slashing the workforce of an organization that has expanded since it was created in the wake of the Sept. 11 attacks. Under a bill by Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas, the chair of the Intelligence Committee, the ODNI’s staff of about 1,600 would be capped at 650, according to a senior Senate aide familiar with the proposed legislation. ODNI’s workforce was about 2,000 in January, but National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard has already overseen a reduction of about 20% as part of…
