Satellites can accomplish incredible tasks like provide internet or help monitor wildfires. But many of them ultimately meet a fiery death burning up in Earth’s atmosphere. Others use their last bit of fuel to move to “graveyard” orbits, where they circle the planet in a perpetual deep freeze. A new startup called Lux Aeterna wants to change this. The Denver-based company, which is coming out of stealth today, has designed a reusable satellite called Delphi that it aims to launch — and land — in 2027. If successful, it could help slash the cost to get satellite payloads into space.…

Minnesota became the latest state Wednesday to face a lawsuit from the Trump administration seeking to force it to give its high school graduates who entered the U.S. illegally as immigrants the same lower tuition rates reserved for in-state citizens. The U.S. Department of Justice’s lawsuit also seeks to strike down a law that allows the same immigrant students to receive scholarships covering part or all of their tuition under the state’s North Star Promise program. The department filed its case in federal district court in Minnesota, naming Democratic Gov. Tim Walz and Democratic state Attorney General Keith Ellison as…
(CNN) – So long as you’re not made of wax, right now is a great time to visit Las Vegas. Part of this is on Mother Nature; summer temperatures can hit a beastly 115 in the Mojave Desert, a harsh reality that can literally fry an egg on Las Vegas Boulevard and historically has made July and August two of the quietest months of the year in Sin City. You can also thank the bean counters for Las Vegas being much cheaper to visit this summer. In response to recent slowdowns in overall visitation to the city, many overnight and…
Nearly a year after raising a mega seed round of $50 million, e-commerce veteran Julie Bornstein’s startup Daydream is releasing its AI-powered chatbot for shopping with a focus on fashion. Lucy Roberts arrest: Vacation selfies of a British woman ‘dripping in diamonds’ lead to her arrest for jewelry theft, police say
CNN — A former jewelry store manager in the United Kingdom was sentenced to 28 months in prison after posting selfies wearing stolen merchandise and sending them to her coworkers, Humberside Police said in a statement. Lucy Roberts, 39, frequently took jewelry home with her during the year she worked at a high-end shop, police said, telling suspicious coworkers she “was conducting work at home and sorting stock for the workshop.” The police statement does not name the store. It was only when Roberts quit and went on vacation that her colleagues realized where the jewelry went, the statement says.…
The first thing to love about writer-director-star Eva Victor’s extraordinary debut “Sorry, Baby” is how she, as the young professor Agnes, tries, and fails, to hide a tryst with her neighbor.Agnes lives in a quaint New England home where her best friend and fellow former grad student Lydie (Naomi Ackie) is visiting. We are just getting to know each of these characters when a knock comes on the door. Gavin (Lucas Hedges) stands outside confused when Lydie answers. Agnes rushes over to act as though he’s mistaken her house for his, and not for the first time.“God bless your lost…
