Walmart CEO Doug McMillon is retiring early next year, after overseeing the top U.S. retailer’s transformation into an e-commerce behemoth, the company said Friday in a filing.The longtime CEO will be succeeded by John Furner, the Walmart U.S. CEO, on Feb. 1, according to the filing.McMillon, who stepped into the top role at Walmart in February 2014, will officially retire as of Jan. 31. Tesla is recalling more than 10,000 Powerwall 2 home batteries sold in the U.S. after nearly two dozen confirmed incidents of the units overheating, emitting smoke, or catching fire. The U.S. recall comes just months after Tesla recalled Powerwall 2 batteries in Australia following reports of fires. In the Australian recall, the battery cells inside the Powerwalls were manufactured by an unnamed third-party supplier. Tesla did not immediately reply to a question about which company manufactured the cells covered by the U.S. recall. Google is adding a new feature to its mobile app that could potentially challenge Pinterest in becoming users’ first stop for inspirational imagery: a dedicated images tab. The company announced on Wednesday it is introducing a new “Images” icon at the bottom of Google’s Search app for iOS and Android devices that will display images personalized to the user’s interests. Firefighters performing a safety drill at one of The Boring Company’s construction sites in Las Vegas received burns from chemicals used in the tunnel excavation process, according to a new report from Fortune. Those Clark County firefighters weren’t previously made aware of the potential hazard but were permanently scarred, the report states. Employees working on The Boring Company’s tunnels have also received similar chemical burns.
