This week, Spotify publicly addressed misinformation circulating about its terms of use. The response was prompted by videos from creators, such as artist @chantmagick, which accused Spotify of modifying its terms and conditions to permit the transfer of rights to artists’ music to third parties, including partners, affiliates, and tech providers. Spotify issued a public statement this week, clarifying that these claims are false and reassuring users that these updated terms do not affect the distribution rights of artists, podcasters, creators, and authors regarding their music, shows, and audiobooks. Instead, these terms apply to listeners. The terms allow Spotify to…

Tesla has asked the Environmental Protection Agency not to roll back current vehicle emissions standards, breaking from other major automakers who want to see the rules eased. The company’s request comes the same week that President Donald Trump — who Tesla CEO Elon Musk spent $300 million to help elect — told the United Nations General Assembly that he thinks climate change is a “con job” and a “scam.” Tesla also asked the EPA not to scuttle a 2009 legal standard known as the Endangerment Finding, which many modern environmental regulations (like the vehicle emissions standards) are based on. MILAN (AP) — Moschino nearly single-handedly kept irony alive and kicking on the Milan runway.Repurposed materials produced surprising results in the Spring-Summer 2026 womenswear collection previewed Thursday: Crinoline bands became a haute couture skirt. Rubber bands were woven into an ombre mini dress, with just a little bounce. And chimney brushes made whimsical shoes. On the Moschino runway, dresses were made from newspaper print textiles. Here’s the real novelty: They all contain good news. Whereas other brands barely cover nipples, Moschino fashioned bodices from crochet doilies sprouting miniature swans that peek up at the wearer.Inspired by Arte Povera, creative director Adrian…

Amr Awadallah, founder of AI startup Vectara, had two reactions when he heard about changes to the H-1B visa program that raise the application fee for each visa to $100,000. He was not surprised. But he was dismayed. “I can’t afford to pay $100,000,” Awadallah told TechCrunch. He’s hired one employee on an H-1B, and while the new fee only applies to new applications, he believes it’s too high for many startups and will price them out of hiring internationally. The H-1B visa was created to allow companies to hire skilled talent from a worldwide market for such occupations as…

Microsoft has cut off the Israel Ministry of Defense’s access to some of its tech and services after an internal investigation found the organization appeared to be using its tech to store surveillance data on phone calls made by Palestinians. The tech giant announced on Thursday that it made the decision to “cease and disable” certain subscriptions from the Israeli military. This affects subscriptions to Azure cloud storage and certain AI services. “We do not provide technology to facilitate mass surveillance of civilians,” Microsoft vice chair and president Brad Smith wrote in a blog post. “We have applied this principle in every country around the world, and we have insisted on it repeatedly for more than two decades. This is why…
MILAN (AP) — Prada’s cavernous showroom was awash in bright orange paint Thursday for a women’s collection that swerved from cocooning to revealing, rigorous to feminine.Co-creative directors Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons continued their meditation on the uniform, but here they invited women to throw caution to the wind, and pair bright opera gloves with coveralls, the kind a mechanic with sartorial sense might wear.“We thought a lot about the idea of freedom, freedom in the way you dress,’’ Simons said backstage. The Prada toolboxThe runway was therefore a toolbox of elements to compose individual looks without regard for conventions…
