MOUNT GRETNA, Pa. (AP) — It takes a 54-page pamphlet to list all the classes, concerts, outdoor recreation and other self-improvement and entertainment going on at the Pennsylvania Chautauqua in Mount Gretna this summer. The area springs to life every June, July and August, when a year-round population of about 1,000 more than doubles and thousands more crowd in for big events. China’s plans to build a new embassy on the site of a two-century-old building near the Tower of London have stalled for the past three years because of opposition from local residents, lawmakers, and Hong Kong pro-democracy campaigners in Britain. Politicians in Britain and the U.S. have warned the government against allowing China to…

This comes a month after companies including Nvidia were given the green light to start selling its AI chips…
Y Combinator has filed an amicus brief in the ongoing legal battle between Apple and Epic Games, arguing that the App Store has stifled startup innovation. We’ve reached out to legal reps for YC and Apple for comment. The brief comes during the years-long legal dispute. Epic Games first filed an antitrust lawsuit against the iPhone maker in 2020 in protest of Apple taking a 30% fee for every purchase made in the App Store, as well as in-game purchases. Epic claimed in its suit that Apple unlawfully banned developers from telling customers about payment alternatives to the App Store. …
Facebook Tweet Email Link For Ukraine, history is a battlefield. Months before Russian President Vladimir Putin launched his full-scale invasion, he published a brooding, 5,000-word article that made the case for dismantling the country; in his speech to mark the start of Russia’s offensive he reeled off a litany of historical grievances against the West; and months into the war, he cast himself as the successor to Russia’s modernizing tsar Peter the Great. History lessons are now haunting Ukraine again. As US President Donald Trump pushes for a negotiated end to the war there, politicians and pundits are searching for…
SpaceX is gearing up to launch its massive Starship rocket from South Texas, a test that gives the company a chance to reverse a brutal few months of mishaps on the ground and in the air. But that mission ended with the upper stage, also called Starship, or Ship, breaking apart on reentry and the booster exploding over the Gulf during the landing burn phase of flight. A few weeks later, the Ship slated for Flight 10…
