Following such a loss, insurers send checks typically made out jointly to both the homeowner and the mortgage lender or servicer. The lender will then deposit…
Hawaii’s plan to slash cruise ship visits has the local cruise sector urging a rethink, with business leaders and policy groups saying there are more collaborative ways to reduce emissions than simply cutting calls. The Hawaii Department of Transportation (DOT) has proposed a 50 percent reduction in cruise ship visits by 2030, followed by an additional 50 percent cut by 2035. The plan makes an exception for Hawaii’s only homeported ship, Norwegian Cruise Line’s Pride of America, but would affect other large vessels that include Hawaii as part of their itineraries. Local businesses and policy groups connected to the cruise…
Facebook Tweet Email Link Kyiv — Moments after the chaotic Oval Office press event between Presidents Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky, I thought I heard a collective sigh of relief rise above the Kyiv skyline. “There is some good news: they didn’t fight,” was Ukrainian MP Yaroslav Zelezhnyak’s reaction on X. A head-on collision along the lines of the February Oval Office shouting match had been averted. “I expected much worse,” another MP, Oleksandr Merezhko, told CNN. “The tone has changed. Trump wasn’t negative. The impression is that the presidents have gotten used to each other.” Maryan Zablotsky, another parliament…
The skies are blue, the sun unrelenting and the body count escalating in the Bakersfield, California, of “Honey Don’t!,” where Margaret Qualley’s private investigator tries to get a handle on the nefarious goings-on in her city with a small-town feel. It’s the second film in Ethan Coen and Tricia Cooke’s so-called “lesbian B-movie trilogy,” and while this shaggy caper might not add up to anything significant — perhaps part of the “B-movie” point — it is fun and immensely watchable. That’s thanks in large part to Qualley’s turn as the smoothly confident Honey O’Donahue, kind of a Philip Marlowe, or maybe…

Linktree, the popular link-in-bio service used by millions of creators and businesses, has been inaccessible in India for several days — and its sudden disappearance from the Indian web remains a mystery, even to the Australian startup itself. Over the past week, Linktree has been inaccessible in India, with a few users raising the issue on X. Initially, TechCrunch noticed that the site briefly displayed a message suggesting it had been blocked by the Indian government. Later, this was replaced by a generic SSL protocol error. The Linktree app has also been inaccessible in the country. Founded in 2016, Linktree…

Anna Monaco has been building AI agents since before the term “AI agents” was even a thing. After building numerous chatbots, she started looking for other types of interfaces that made sense for AI agents and landed on spreadsheets. “I had this personal pattern, and I noticed that a lot of other people had this pattern, of putting very important CRM data in spreadsheets just because it was the most flexible thing,” Monaco told TechCrunch. “But it was actually a pain to maintain. There’s so much manual work involved. So [I] just went down this rabbit hole of building a…
As more tariffs take effect on goods imported into the U.S., a specific accounting method could have major implications for how American retailers calculate the impact.A tariff adds to the cost of an imported item when it’s received and paid for when it crosses a border. While there’s debate over who pays that tariff — the manufacturer, the retailer, the consumer or some combination — the hit will likely show up in retailers’ bottom lines. But a specific accounting practice, called retail inventory method accounting, or RIM, can make profitability appear stronger than it is in the short term.”Retail inventory method accounting…
