When Bill Dally joined Nvidia’s research lab in 2009, it employed only about a dozen people and was focused on ray tracing, a rendering technique used in computer graphics. That once-small research lab now employs more than 400 people, who have helped transform Nvidia from a video game GPU startup in the nineties to a $4 trillion-dollar company fueling the artificial intelligence boom. Now, the company’s research lab has its sights set on developing the tech needed to power robotics and AI. And some of that lab work is already showing up in products. The company unveiled Monday a new set…
Facebook Tweet Email Link Kyiv, Ukraine — Small groups of Russian troops have pierced parts of Ukraine’s defenses in its eastern Donetsk region, according to local officials and monitoring groups, adding to Kyiv’s complications as Russia attempts to encircle the key strategic city of Pokrovsk. Russian forces are making a push towards Dobropillia, the Ukrainian battlefield monitoring group DeepState reported Tuesday. The town is around 20 kilometers (12 miles) north of Pokrovsk, which has been in the Kremlin’s crosshairs for months. Ukrainian officials conceded that their defenses near Dobropillia had been infiltrated by clusters of Russian forces, but stressed that…
Facebook Tweet Email Link Dana Santas, known as the “Mobility Maker,” is a certified strength and conditioning specialist and mind-body coach in professional sports, and is the author of the book “Practical Solutions for Back Pain Relief.” That persistent tension in your back, hip or shoulder never seems to fully resolve despite stretching before and after workouts, foam rolling, and even visiting a massage therapist regularly. In fact, sometimes the tightness feels worse after stretching. If this situation sounds familiar, your body might not just be tight — it may be protecting itself through involuntary muscle contractions. Recognizing the distinction…
by Sarah Kuta Last updated: 2:45 PM ET, Mon August 11, 2025 Travel advisors can now price Aurora Expeditions’ voyages in six currencies: USD, CAD, EUR, GBP, AUD and NZD. Antarctica voyages have historically been priced in USD. Now, however, they can be sold in local currencies based on the agency’s registered location for trade bookings or the passenger’s country of residence for direct bookings. This shift allows the exchange rate to be locked in at the time of booking for both the deposit and final payment, avoiding currency fluctuations and giving clients a full understanding of their total trip cost…
Epic Games has just secured a win in its crusade against Apple and Google’s app store policies: The Federal Court of Australia on Tuesday ruled that Apple and Google’s engaged in anti-competitive conduct when it came to their respective app stores, ABC News reported. While Judge Jonathan Beach found that the two tech giants had abused their dominant position in the market for app distribution to limit competition, he rejected Epic’s claims that the companies had engaged in “unconscionable conduct.” Epic Games has been fighting Apple and Google’s fee structure for in-app purchases in various jurisdictions around the planet. The…
NEW YORK (AP) — On paper, the song might be an unusual pairing, or something resembling Mad Libs. Two Atlanta rappers with idiosyncratic styles — Offset’s melodic, aggressive flow and the dexterous lyricist JID — speaking the same language on “Bodies.”Their collaboration, largely recorded in China, arrives atop a sample of nu-metal band Drowning Pool’s 2001 cut “Bodies.” It’s become a 2025 Billboard Hot 100 hit of their own, and it doubles as an ode to self-determination — standing your ground and working toward evolution.“As soon as he played it, it was like history,” JID says of hearing their “Bodies”…

Delivery drones are so fast they can zip a pint of ice cream to a customer’s driveway before it melts.Yet the long-promised technology has been slow to take off in the United States. More than six years after the Federal Aviation Administration approved commercial home deliveries with drones, the service mostly has been confined to a few suburbs and rural areas. That could soon change. The FAA proposed a new rule last week that would make it easier for companies to fly drones outside of an operator’s line of sight and therefore over longer distances. A handful of companies do…
