A 2023 survey of the nation’s largest school districts found that fewer than 10% of students received tutoring. One factor is that tutoring is too expensive for many families, often costing hundreds or thousands of dollars a month. Tim Novikoff, a former Google product manager and educator, wants to change that. His startup, Super Teacher, offers an AI-powered tutoring app for elementary school students that costs $15 a month, or $10 with an annual plan. Super Teacher aims…

Katie Hill’s dream home isn’t on the market — but one day, it will be, and she wants dibs. That, and a bit of neighborly envy, is how she got the idea for her startup, Unlisted Homes, which is a Top 20 Startup Battlefield finalist at TechCrunch Disrupt 2025. “I’ve always imagined myself as an old lady with a big hat and big sunglasses, sipping a martini by the pool,” said Hill, a longtime entrepreneur. As her children grow into adults and move away from home, her neighbor’s lot across the street seems perfect: It’s a smaller home that’s perfect…

Waabi CEO Raquel Urtasun said on TechCrunch Disrupt’s AI stage the company has the potential to be the first to commercialize self-driving trucks without a human safety driver or observer. The Lucid display is seen at the New York International Auto Show on April 16, 2025. Miraqules co-founder and CEO Sabir Hossain always knew he wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps and run his own business. But he never thought he’d launch a biotech company built around a technology that would have been able to help his father after a near-tragic accident years earlier left him almost bleeding to death. Bengaluru-based Miraqules developed a nanotechnology in powder form that mimics blood clotting proteins. The blood clotting powder rapidly produces fibrous compounds at room temperature that are a high volume to ratio and can absorb blood quickly when applied. “This is a product that will give…
