Coming from a background far removed from sailing or boating culture, the idea of spending a vacation aboard a cabin charter—rather than at a traditional hotel—left me quite skeptical. However, for those who haven’t actually experienced the joy of simply waking up, being surrounded by crystal clear waters and a whole new destination on the horizon, keep reading, because I was one of those people. Imagine sailing from one postcard-perfect island to the next, without you ever having to plan out the logistics or stress out about an itinerary, let alone repack your bags. After experiencing five nights aboard a…
Nvidia seems determined to find a way to sell AI chips in China despite U.S. export restrictions. The semiconductor giant is planning to launch an AI chip specifically for the Chinese market as early as September, as originally reported by the Financial Times. This AI chip would be based on Nvidia’s Blackwell RTX Pro 6000 processor, which is already modified to meet the existing AI chip restrictions, the Financial Times added. These chips wouldn’t include high-bandwidth memory or NVLink, Nvidia’s high-speed but low-latency communication interface, both of which are features of the company’s advanced AI chips. Breakfast cereal could use a lucky charm.U.S. sales of the colorfully packaged morning staple have been in a decades-long decline, a trend back in the spotlight with news that Italian confectioner Ferrero Group plans to purchase WK Kellogg, maker of Corn Flakes, Froot Loops, Rice Krispies and other familiar brands. Except for a brief period during the coronavirus pandemic, when many workers were home and had time to sit down with a bowl of cereal and milk, sales of cold cereal have steadily fallen for at least 25 years, experts say. In the 52 weeks ending July 3, 2021, Americans…

With the departure of X CEO Linda Yaccarino, which was announced Wednesday, the company that defined text-first social networking faces renewed competition. Year-over-year, the Elon Musk-owned social network has seen its daily active user base decline by roughly 10% as of the second quarter of 2025, according to new data provided by app intelligence firm Sensor Tower. While X’s user base is still 65% larger than Meta’s Threads and 10 times larger than its next-biggest rival, Bluesky, X’s lasting victory in this space is not guaranteed. On mobile devices, there’s already some indication that Threads is catching up. New data…
Air India crash: Engine fuel supply was cut just before Air India jet crash, preliminary report says
CNN — India’s Aircraft Accident Investigation bureau has released a preliminary report on the Air India flight that crashed in June, pointing to a possible issue with the engine fuel supply. The London-bound plane had barely left the runway at Ahmedabad airport before it careened back to earth. Everyone on board was killed, except for one passenger. According to the report obtained by CNN, the fuel control switches in the cockpit of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner had been flipped, resulting in engine problems. The aircraft had reached an airspeed of 180 knots when both engines’ fuel cutoff switches were “transitioned…

YouTube is removing its Trending page and Trending Now list in favor of category-specific charts, the company announced on Thursday. With this change, YouTube is moving away from the single, all-encompassing list for trending content to now just displaying the most popular content in specific categories on YouTube Charts. The platform says the update better aligns with the way trending content is discovered today, noting that when the Trending page launched in 2015, it was a lot simpler to capture viral videos that everyone was talking about with a singular list. The new category-specific charts include Trending Music Videos, Weekly…
The Trump administration is suing the state of California to block animal welfare laws that it says unconstitutionally helped send egg prices soaring. But a group that spearheaded the requirements pushed back, blaming bird flu for the hit to consumers’ pocketbooks. The lawsuit, filed in federal court in California on Wednesday, challenges voter initiatives that passed in 2018 and 2008. They require that all eggs sold in California come from cage-free hens. The Trump administration says the law imposes burdensome red tape on the production of eggs and egg products across the country because of the state’s outsize role in the national…
