CoreWeave co-founder and CEO Michael Intrator’s net worth has skyrocketed to about $10 billion in the three months since the AI firm went public, Bloomberg reports. His company’s debut was both the biggest tech IPO so far of 2025 — raising $1.5 billion — and somewhat of a clunker: Its founders had reportedly hoped to raise a lot more — up to $4 billion — and had to skinny their ambitions. CoreWeave still feels a bit like both a success and a house of cards. It offers AI training and inference cloud services built upon a growing stockpile of Nvidia…
CNN — Catherine Tondelli was standing underneath the Trevi Fountain, on a summer’s evening in Rome, about to throw three coins into the fountain’s waters. Growing up in the US, Catherine had seen romance movies set in Italy. She’d read books about Rome. She’d heard the city’s famous fountain was impressive. But nothing could have prepared her for the first view of the marble figures, illuminated by moonlight. “Suddenly, there it was — a massive, breathtaking fountain,” Catherine tells CNN Travel today. “It was a blue moon that night, which was really beautiful. The fountain was gorgeous.” Catherine was standing…
You’re laughing. Windows killed the Blue Screen of Death and you’re laughing. Yes, the iconic Windows error screen is getting a makeover nearly 40 years after its debut in the first version of Windows. Now the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) will become the Black Screen of Death (BSOD). Image Credits:Windows (opens in a new window) This change is related to other updates that Windows is making in the wake of the CrowdStrike outage last year, which affected 8.5 million Windows devices and took businesses, airports, TV stations, and government services offline. In the aftermath of the CrowdStrike outage, Microsoft…
Uber founder Travis Kalanick is looking for ways to buy the U.S. arm of Chinese autonomous vehicle company Pony AI, according to The New York Times. Kalanick is reportedly working with investors to finance an acquisition, and Uber may even help make the transaction happen, the Times reports. Pony AI went public last year and had a market cap of around $4.5 billion before The New York Times report was published. The report states that Pony started preparing its U.S. arm for a sale or spinoff in 2022, down to creating a “forked” version of its source code. Acquiring Pony…
Sydney, Australia CNN — More than a third of the population of Tuvalu has applied to move to Australia, under a landmark visa scheme designed to help people escape rising sea levels. The island nation – roughly halfway between Hawaii and Australia – is home to about 10,000 people, according to the latest government statistics, living across a clutch of tiny islets and atolls in the South Pacific. With no part of its territory above six meters, it is one of the most at-risk places in the world to rising seas caused by climate change. On June 16, Australia opened…
Apple on Thursday announced a series of updates to its developer policies to comply with the EU’s Digital Markets Act (DMA). The news, which was expected, arrived just in time to meet the deadline of June 26, after which the iPhone maker would risk new fines. The changes involve both how app developers can communicate with their customers and the fees Apple charges. EU regulators had earlier fined Apple €500 million for noncompliance with the DMA and were threatening to impose further penalties, forcing Apple’s hand. In terms of Apple’s new “anti-steering” rules, which dictate customer communications, EU app developers…
