Google parent Alphabet has agreed to buy Intersect Power, a data center and clean energy developer, for $4.75 billion in cash, plus the assumption of the company’s debt. The acquisition, which was announced Monday, will help Alphabet expand its power-generation capacity alongside new data centers without having to rely on local utilities that are struggling to keep up with the demand of AI companies. Southwest Airlines will expand flight options to and from the Hawaiian Islands this coming summer.The low-cost carrier has announced new nonstop service between Hilo on the Big Island and one of its ever-expanding operating bases in Las Vegas, taking off on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. WASHINGTON (AP) — The Federal Communications Commission on Monday said it would ban new foreign-made drones, a move that will keep new Chinese-made drones such as those from DJI and Autel out of the U.S. market.The announcement came a year after Congress passed a defense bill that raised national security concerns about Chinese-made drones, which have become a dominant player in the U.S., widely used in farming, mapping, law enforcement and filmmaking.
