YouTube is tweaking its profanity-related rules to allow creators to monetize videos with swearing in them, provided the profanity is limited to the first seven seconds of the video. In November 2022, YouTube changed its rules so that creators who used swear words in the first 8-15 seconds would potentially be ineligible for any ad revenue. WASHINGTON (AP) — Brown University will pay $50 million to Rhode Island workforce development organizations in a deal with the Trump administration that restores lost federal research funding and ends investigations into alleged discrimination, officials said Wednesday. Generative AI apps have seen tremendous growth in both downloads and in-app revenue in the first half of 2025, a report from market intelligence firm Sensor Tower said. Users downloaded GenAI apps 1.7 billion times, compared to 1 billion in H2 2024. These apps doubled in-app revenue, bringing in $1.87 billion in H1 2025, as compared to $932 million in H2 2024. The report noted that users spent over 15.6 billion hours on GenAI apps in the first half of 2025, a jump from 8.5 billion hours in H2 2024. This time was recorded over 426 billion sessions.
