Think river cruising is just for summer? Think again.
Avalon Waterways is inviting travelers to explore Europe’s storied rivers during the upcoming fall and winter seasons—and there are still cabins available.
The line’s “Cozy Cruise Collection” includes a variety of departures, including voyages on the Danube, Rhino, Moselle, Seine, Douro, Garonne and Dordogne Rivers.
“Cozy cruising is finding its moment,” says Pam Hoffee, president of Avalon Waterways. “Travelers are craving authenticity, beauty and even more breathing room. Our harvest, off-season and Christmas Market cruises deliver that and more. They’re immersive, indulgent and incredibly special. And there’s still space to make 2025 travel dreams come true.”
From mid-October through mid-November, travelers can immerse themselves in the European harvest season, when grape vines turn gold, on itineraries like “Romantic Rhine for Wine Lovers” and “Burgundy & Provence for Wine Lovers.”
In November, off-season cruises offer a chance to explore some of Europe’s most famous destinations without the crowds while also paying up to 35 percent less compared to peak season. Itineraries include “Danube Dreams,” “Romantic Rhine” and “Paris to Normandy,” just to name a few.
Avalon also still has a few spots on its popular Christmas markets cruises, including “Christmastime on the Romantic Rhine” and “Christmastime on the Danube.”
