Host agency Avoya Travel announced a major leadership change today, December 11, following the previous announcement that CEO Marc Kazlauskas will be heading to Norwegian Cruise Line to be the line’s new president.
The new CEO of Avoya Travel will be Phil Cappelli, the Chief Sales Officer. He’ll assume the role in January, following Kazlauskas’s official appointment as president of NCL on January 19.

The host agency was acquired by private equity firm Certares back in June. Kazlauskas was appointed CEO following the acquisition.
Avoya Travel announced the news to its travel advisor network first, then made a statement to the press, saying, thanking Kazlauskas for his work and saying, “Avoya enters 2026 and beyond with strong momentum, a seasoned and highly experienced executive leadership team, and the continued backing of Certares, one of the most respected investment firms in global travel and tourism.
“Our strategy and priorities remain firmly in place with continued focus on innovation, strengthening supplier partnerships, and supporting the growth and success of our Independent Advisor Network.”
