A group of Carnival Cruise Line passengers has been permanently banned from sailing with the company after a wild brawl broke out aboard one of its ships earlier this month.
The altercation happened aboard the Carnival Sunrise on June 7. A video posted by TikTok user @hellokittyyx shows several guests physically fighting while crew members and security tried to restore order. In the clip, at least two chairs appear to be thrown as chaos unfolds in a public area of the ship.
Carnival confirmed the incident and took swift action. “Those involved will not sail on Carnival Cruise Line again,” a company spokesperson told USA Today.
This isn’t the first time Carnival has cracked down on such unruly onboard behavior. Back in April, 24 passengers were banned after a different fight broke out while disembarking from the Carnival Jubilee. And there have been other similar incidents in recent years that led to permanent bans.
Carnival has made it clear that it won’t tolerate any kind of violent conduct onboard. The cruise line maintains a strict “zero-tolerance” policy when it comes to disruptive passenger behavior.
“The safety and security of our guests, team members, the destinations we visit and the waters in which we travel are embedded in our company’s values and guides our operation,” the company says on its website. “Cruise ships are a shared space, and all guests are expected to treat others with respect.”
Carnival reminds guests of these safety and security rules both before and during their cruise.
