Carnival Cruise Line has announced the expansion of its “Find
Your Fun Again” advertising campaign, this time with Emmy-winning actor,
author, and humorist Nick Offerman taking the lead.
The new ads are the first under the cruise line’s new brand
platform, “Carnival Is Calling,” which launched on November 1, with Offerman
serving as the face of the campaign.
“We believe Nick Offerman is the best person to be our
‘unlikely hero of fun’,” Carnival Cruise Line chief marketing officer Amy
Martin Ziegenfuss said. “His signature blend of wry humor and credibility is
the perfect way to deliver our message.”
“Nick’s personal mission, which aims to get kids off their
screens and start creating projects, aligns with our vision of encouraging
people to get out, reconnect and find their fun again, with Carnival,” Ziegenfuss
continued.
Using Offerman’s sense of humor to address the perceived fun
deficit in America, the veteran actor balances deadpan humor and playfulness,
with the advertisements co-written by Parks and Recreation writers to
ensure they stay true to his character.
With the addition of Offerman to the cruise line’s latest
campaign, he joins a long line of Carnival celebrity spokespeople and brand
ambassadors, including Shaquille O’Neal, Guy Fieri, Emeril Lagasse, Jonathan Bennett,
and Kathie Lee Gifford.
