Contiki, the world’s leading travel brand for 18–35-year-olds
is expanding its Africa portfolio with the launch of four new
trips. Each itinerary across Kenya, Tanzania, Eswatini and South Africa is
designed to make safari experiences more accessible to younger audiences with
added adrenaline and cultural immersion without the premium price tag.
“One of the standout features of these trips is that the
entire group travels together in a single custom safari vehicle, which adds to
the game viewing experience, helping travelers see over the long grass for full
views. More than that, it brings the unique Contiki vibe to the plains of
Africa. We’re all together in one vehicle, enjoying each moment together as one
group,” says Kyle Junkuhn, Operations Manager in Africa for Contiki and a
qualified Safari Guide.
He added, “Offering more trips at affordable prices to
expensive destinations like East Africa will give more people the opportunity
to experience the best wildlife viewing on the continent.
The launch follows a demand rise for Africa-based travel among
Contiki’s core
audience showing Tanzania trips up 11.1 percent compared to 2024 and 46.2
increase in bookings to Kruger and Eswatini.
New African trips include:
Kenya & Tanzania Adventure: For young travelers wanting
to see the best of East Africa in one seamless experience covering five
national parks over 11 days, including the Maasai Mara and Amboseli – while
offering a rich mix of wildlife encounters, optional adventure activities and
cultural immersion.
Kenya Adventure: Exploring three of Kenya’s most
iconic national parks across six action-packed days. Highlights include Big 5
game drives, mountain biking through nature and villages, white-water rafting,
ziplining, archery, a hot air balloon safari over the plains, and a cultural
visit to a Maasai village.
Tanzania Adventure: This six-day itinerary ticks off
the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara. In addition to daily game
drives, travelers can experience treetop walks, cultural village visits, and a
night safari to see big cats after dark.
Trips include a custom overland vehicle for the best views
during safaris, and premium campsites accommodations under the stars with pre-assembled
tents and all amenities. Trips are led by fully trained safari guides,
alongside a dedicated driver and on-road chef for freshly prepared meals
throughout the journey.
In addition to the East Africa trips, Contiki has announced
a brand new version of its popular Cape, Safari & Falls itinerary. The ‘Cape
Town, Kruger & Bushfire Festival’ now features the Bushfire Festival – one
of Africa’s most celebrated music events, a 9-day itinerary combining Cape
Town’s dramatic coastline to iconic game drives in Kruger National Park,
finishing with three nights at the iconic Bushfire Festival.
With the launch of its new trips, Contiki’s Africa portfolio
now includes over 30 itineraries across the continent.
