CroisiEurope has unveiled a new Christmas market cruise through Belgium.
The new four-day itinerary, which is scheduled to launch this December, will take travelers between Bruges and Ghent along Belgium’s canals.
Along the way, travelers will have a chance to visit various Christmas markets.
Bruges has two—a large one in Grote Markt that’s known for its traditional chalets, ice skating rink and festive decorations, plus a smaller one near Simon Stevinplein that focuses more on artisanal crafts. Ghent’s Christmas market, known as “Winter in Ghent” or “Gentse Winterfeesten,” extends out from Sint-Baafsplein along the Botermarkt and Klein Turkije to the end of the Korenmarkt. It features more than 150 wooden stalls selling gifts, plus seasonal food and drink.
Guests can also enjoy other activities, like a guided tour of Bruges, a tasting of traditional Flemish beer at the Bourgogne des Flandres brewery, a tour of Ghent with a tasting of local specialities and onboard tastings of hot chocolate, Christmas cookies and sweet Belgian waffles.
The voyage is being offered aboard the MS Raymonde, which has 11outward-facing cabins, a restaurant, a lounge bar, a sun deck and a relaxation area with a jacuzzi. Six crew members provide personalized service.
