For college football fans thinking about traveling to see
their favorite teams in the playoffs, Delta Air Lines announced new and
expanded service to meet the increased demand for flights to key host cities.
Delta revealed it would expand service for the College
Football Playoff quarterfinals, with additional flights between Columbus and Dallas
on December 30 and January 1 for Buckeye fans.
“Bowl season is all about tradition, rivalries and
unforgettable moments as teams battle it out for a place in the championship,”
Delta Vice President of Network Planning Amy Martin said.
For fans of the Miami Hurricanes, the airline is bolstering
its options between Atlanta and Miami, with 12 daily flights on December 31 and
January 2. For Hoosiers taking to the skies, Delta is adding extra flights from
Indianapolis to Los Angeles on December 30, December 31, and January 2.
Supporters of the Georgia Bulldogs will also have additional
flight options, as the carrier is bolstering service between Atlanta and New
Orleans on December 31 and January 2.
“By adding additional flights and building off Delta’s
well-positioned existing network, we are making sure college football fans can
be there to cheer on their team when and where it matters the most,” Martin
continued.
Delta officials said the flights are expected to sell out
quickly.
