Google has announced an upgrade to its travel products, a website called Flight Deals.
Flight Deals is an AI-powered tool where customers can enter conversational type text to find flights.
According to Jade Kessler, Product Manager, Google Flights, “Flight Deals is designed for flexible travelers whose number one goal is saving money on their next trip.
Instead of playing with different dates, destinations and filters to uncover the best deals, you can just describe when, where and how you’d like to travel — as though you’re talking to a friend — and Flight Deals will take care of the rest.”
A customer might enter a prompt such as, “Find me a 7-day beach vacation leaving from either Cleveland or Pittsburgh airport” or “Long weekend trip to a city with interesting museums for under $1,000.”
Flight Deals will then return various flight options that meets the criteria entered.
Flight Deals will be rolling out in the U.S., Canada, and India over the next week, with no opt-in required. Google noted that the original Google Flights will remain, and that page will soon be improved with an option for users to exclude basic economy fares for trips in the U.S. and Canada.
