Travelers will soon have more options for visiting one of Florida’s most vibrant cities, as JetBlue is adding new routes and more flights to its hub in the Sunshine State.
This fall, the carrier will be adding four new year-round domestic routes from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL).
On December 4, the carrier will launch new nonstop service from FLL to Norfolk, Virginia (ORF), operating five times per week. On the same day, JetBlue will launch a new daily route from FLL to Tampa (TPA) and also restart daily nonstop service to Atlanta (ATL). On November 20, the airline will also bring back its former FLL to Austin (AUS) route, which will operate twice daily.
In addition to the four new destinations, JetBlue will also add a new daily flight frequency on five existing routes from Fort Lauderdale, including to Las Vegas (LAS), Phoenix (PHX), Raleigh-Durham (RDU), and Richmond (RIC) starting October 26, and to Los Angeles (LAX), on November 21. The airline says the added frequencies are in response to growing travel demand on those routes.
“Fort Lauderdale has long been a key market for JetBlue, and we’re excited to keep growing with the region,” said Dave Jehn, JetBlue’s vice president of network planning and airline partnerships. “With new routes, more flights and the expansion of our award-winning Mint experience on more trips, and the best crewmembers in the business, we’re continuing to offer more reasons for South Florida travelers to choose JetBlue.”
The additional flights to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Phoenix will also bring expanded Mint business class options to Fort Lauderdale, as the popular premium cabin with lie-flat seats flies on all three of those routes. By the winter season, Fort Lauderdale will offer a total of 13 daily flights with Mint.
“We’re excited to add more Mint to popular routes from Fort Lauderdale and continue building on its success,” Jehn said. “Mint is a reimagined premium experience that offers a different level of comfort, privacy and hospitality. Our customers appreciate the difference, and we’re confident these expanded Mint routes will be a compelling option for travelers looking to elevate their journey.”
Earlier in July, JetBlue resumed two additional routes from Fort Lauderdale, including a twice-daily flight to Philadelphia (PHL) and a daily flight to Guayaquil, Ecuador (GYE).
