Travel advisor remains one of the fastest-growing careers in the U.S., but new data from leading host travel agency Nexion Travel Group sheds new light on just how popular the profession has become.
Nexion has reported a 20 percent increase in interest over the last year from individuals exploring the profession.
What’s more, a recent survey of Nexion advisors found that nearly nine in 10 (88 percent) would recommend a career as a travel advisor, while 83 percent said they are optimistic or very optimistic about the industry’s future.
“People are looking for careers that offer flexibility, purpose and growth, and travel advisor delivers on all three,” Jackie Friedman, CTC, CTIE, President of Nexion Travel Group, said in a statement. “We’re seeing strong interest from career changers and entrepreneurs who want more control over their work while helping clients create meaningful travel experiences.”
According to Nexion, many people expressing interest in becoming a travel advisor are former corporate professionals, educators and hospitality workers in search of flexible and home-based work opportunities.
“These are not the travel agents of decades past,” added Friedman. “Modern travel advisors are trusted consultants and entrepreneurs, and host agencies like Nexion provide the foundation to succeed.”
