The numbers are in: Port Canaveral is now the world’s busiest cruise port, taking the top spot from PortMiami for 2025.
Port Canaveral welcomed more than 8.6 million revenue passengers during fiscal year 2025, the highest number ever recorded in the port’s history and a 13 percent increase from fiscal year 2024.
“Earning this distinction is a direct reflection of our ongoing commitment and focused efforts to be the best port possible, providing a high-quality experience for all cruise guests sailing from our Port,” says John Murray, chief executive officer of Port Canaveral.
“With thanks to our hard-working teams and the confidence we’ve earned from the cruise lines, this milestone underscores our commitment to supporting our cruise partners’ business growth,” Murray continued.
The port has six cruise terminals and parking facilities, serving as the homeport for 18 ships from seven brands. Combined, the vessels make more than 1,000 sailings each year.
The port is in the midst of a $912 million, five-year capital improvement initiative to expand two of its terminals and develop a new cruise terminal campus. The project will also add parking facilities and deploy new technology.
