Princess Cruises is sharing details about the entertainment offerings aboard its newest ship, Star Princess.
The 4,300-guest vessel is slated to debut October 4. The sister ship to Sun Princess, Star Princess was built by Fincantieri in Monfalcone and will sail to the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Panama Canal and Alaska.
Guests who join Star Princess sailings can enjoy two original theatrical productions, immersive candlelight concerts and high-energy pop-up performances every night.
“We’re not just putting on shows, we’re crafting moments that will stay with guests long after the final curtain,” says Lorna Warren, vice president of hotel operations and guest experience for Princess Cruises. “Star Princess was designed to surprise, move and inspire each and every night.”
Performed in the Princess Arena, “Meridian” takes place on a grand ship sailing through the age of elegance. The production is brought to life by BAFTA award-winning creative director Dan Shipton, electric choreography by Kieran Daley-Ward, and produced by Ross Nicholson.
Also in the Princess Arena, guests can enjoy “Illuminate: A Spectacle of Joy,” a production featuring a multi-generational pop score by Kola Bello and choreography by Jay Revell, who also co-directs the production alongside show producer Ross Nicholson.
Both productions were created in partnership with Black Skull Creative.
“Viva La Música” also arrives on Star Princess after premiering on Sun Princess, with choreography by Liz Imperio, who has worked with stars like Jennifer Lopez, Madonna and Gloria Estefan.
Star Princess will also feature a series of candlelight concerts inside the glass-enclosed Dome atop the ship. In the Piazza, guests can enjoy Princess Jamz, a 45-minute performance by the 15-member Princess World Orchestra led by the cruise director, as well as an all-new Celestial Champagne Soirée, featuring immersive light, sound and visual storytelling.
