European airline Ryanair has finalized a partnership with Booking Holdings to make its flights available to book on Booking.com, KAYAK, Priceline and Agoda.
The new partnership adds Booking Holdings to Ryanair’s “Approved OTA” partners. Those who book Ryanair flights through these sites will have access to their myRyanair accounts without needing to complete customer verification, and they’ll also be able to receive flight updates directly.
“This new partnership with Booking Holdings is welcome news for all customers who book or compare prices through Booking.com, KAYAK, Priceline, and Agoda, where they will be assured of full price transparency and receive all essential travel updates from Ryanair directly to their phone,” said Ryanair’s CMO, Dara Brady. “This partnership shows how “Approved OTAs” and Ryanair can work together to protect and benefit consumers, giving them more choice at lower fares.”
According to Reuters, the two companies have been in a legal dispute for several years over the issue. Ryanair had previously accused Booking Holdings of adding additional charges and making it harder for the airline to contact passengers who booked flights through their websites.
The news release reiterated the promise of “full price transparency” for travelers.
The legal case was brought to Booking in the U.S. by Ryanair in 2020. It’s unclear if it has reached a resolution through the new partnership.
